The group in mathematical physics aims at covering a broad range of research topics at the interface between mathematics and physics. It understands mathematical physics in a broad sense, including both the mathematically rigorous treatment of physical phenomena and the mathematical developments inspired by physics ideas.
The simulational physics group is active in many research fields. Projects include the study of theoretical models for quantum magnetism and condensed matter physics, as well as simulation of quantum devices such as quantum simulators. Recently we started working on topic outside quantum physics as computational ecology and classical optimization problems.
Research Areas Climate and ocean dynamics. The world oceans forms a crucial component of the earth's climate system.
